Kallee, Reagan, Miriam, and Lizzie recently traveled to Lakota High School to compete in the District Food Science CDE on Thursday, January 9th. These students designed a product label by selecting different ingredients that fit a select nutritional requirement. They also demonstrated their understanding of food handling practices. Lastly, they had to identify different aromas and the differences between a series of foods. They placed second out of thirteen teams. Congratulations to the team for advancing to the state competition on January 25th at Columbus! Three members placed in the top ten and their individual placements are listed below. The Miller City Mechanical Principles class completed an Ag Commodity Training this past Friday. Thank You to Danielle Banks from Rhodes State College who came in to instruct the training. This training session provides students with valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to earn a credential. They also learned how to sample, inspect, and test grain. The students will have an opportunity to take a test, which can give them a certificate to be a Ag Commodity Tester.
