The 8th grade class just finished up their shop projects during their quarter of agricultural education. They learned how to safely use equipment in the woodworking shop, such as a jointer, planer, miter saw, table saw, etc. They were able to successfully assemble and finish an American Flag out of oak. Great job to this group of 8th graders!

Yesterday the FFA crop plot was harvested! The FFA crop plot managers used SMS software to create prescriptions for different planting populations. They also operated equipment from Rhode's State College to plant the plot. They will now utilize yield data to determine what experimental group was most successful in the study. While the plot was being harvested, Dr. Uphaus from Rhodes and Mr. Barnhart, former agricultural education instructor, assisted the crop plot managers in teaching other ag students about the study and the job opportunities available in digital agriculture.
Thank you to all of the community members and FFA Alumni who helped make this project possible!
